It’s the start of a New Year and the start of a new decade and here at Peter Hanley Motors, we are optimistic, excited and determined for the year ahead. Thankfully, the past ten years have been extremely rewarding for us. We worked hard, but with increased car sales and the continued support of our loyal customers alongside a great staff team, it has been an enjoyable and worthwhile journey. We continue to go from strength to strength. So, there are no New Year Resolutions in Peter Hanley Motors, just the resolve to continue doing what we do and to do more of it!
We are expanding! Those of you who know Peter well, will know that he loves a building project! In 2020, Peter will be a very happy man when we undertake some more serious construction, as we double the size of the current four bay workshop. These plans will free up space in the dealership and improve the working conditions for technicians and mechanics. Last year, we doubled the size of our sales forecourt in an impressive asphalt finish, so it feels good to continue the work. And you can be assured that business will continue as briskly as ever, even as Peter oversees the diggers and the cement mixers. Long term, it is hoped that we will erect a moderate sized showroom at the front of our forecourt, hopefully a 2021-22 project! As a local family business, we are looking forward to welcoming our customers to the newly refurbished showrooms and forecourts. It will, naturally, make it easier to view the cars we have on offer here and provide a more comfortable space to chat about the business of getting yourself a brand new set of wheels or finally trading up the family car.
While all this steady growth continues on the actual premises, we will continue to invest in our online presence. Our website: www.peterhanleymotors.ie got a lot of attention in 2019 and we are improving on both its looks and functionality for 2020. The site allows you to get to know your next car from the comfort of your own home. Statistics now show that most car buyers search online for the motor they fancy, long before they visit the car dealership. This makes absolute sense. It’s fun and it saves time in the long run. Of course, we have long had a presence on all of the online car dealer websites. It is of paramount importance to us to have our own website up to date and at its optimum with car images and relevant details of the cars we stock. Using new artificial intelligence software we have recently revamped the website to allow 3D views of the cars on offer, to complement the existing video tours and 360 Internal and External spins of each car. Honestly, it’s as if you were standing on the forecourt admiring the car in person. We haven’t yet figured out a way for you to actually kick the tyres, but no doubt that will be the next innovation for the online car dealer. Last year we sold over 1,000 cars to happy motorists in the Midlands. In 2020, we will be keeping the current level of approximately 150 used cars in the lot at any time. With over 30 years’ experience in the Motor Industry, we know to focus on quality rather than quantity. The age profile of the cars will be going up, particularly when we consider that the importation of pre-2016 UK cars will no longer be financially viable. Each car we stock will continue to have their full car history check and passes our own rigorous criteria before we offer it to our clients and we will, as always be on the look-out for high quality, high spec cars for our discerning customers.
2020 will bring its challenges as well as its achievements, but we are ready, willing and able.
