At Peter Hanley Motors we are all too familiar with the challenges that have faced every business this year. From the pandemic to Brexit uncertainty, it has been a year to remember. There were also specific challenges within our own industry with the introduction of NOX (Nitrous Oxide Tax), the rising Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) and the uncertainty surrounding the introduction of Greener motoring (Hybrid and electric). In all of this we have had to stay at home, stay away, navigate meeting or not meeting our loved ones, cope with the closing and reopening of the garage doors and cope with unpredictability in all areas of our lives. We have survived and as the year comes to a close, we are counting blessings and looking forward to 2021.
On the upside, we are thankful that all at Peter Hanley Motors are well and hearty. We welcomed new members of staff to the company instilling some young and energetic energy into an already vibrant and brilliant team!In challenging times, we all appreciate the importance of a strong, skilled and dedicated work force. We doubled the size of our existing workshop.Despite the ebbs and flows of lockdown, business has been good.Customers who may have once spent money on holidays and leisure were in a better position to recon their car or upgrade it and many of our clients invested in cars for third level students. The stock of cars continued to improve in line with national trends and we were pleased to showcase newer cars and more eco friendly cars. With this in mind, we recently installed our e-charge points and plan to start construction soon on our indoor car photo area. Our online platform continues to grow and if there was ever a year when having an eCommerce website was essential, it was this one.Thankfully, Peter Hanley Motors have been showcasing cars and booking services online for some time, but we realized the real significance of having an excellent online forecourt in the past 12 months.
We would like to send a big thank you to all our customers and wish you every happiness for the Christmas Holidays. We wish you a very Prosperous, Healthy and Happy New Year. As we enter our 32nd year trading as Peter Hanley Motors, we look for to 2021 safe in the knowledge that resilience, good humour, hard work and an appreciation for all we have, will see us through, no matter what the year ahead brings.
Happy Christmas and New Year.
Here’s to a happy and healthy 2021.
